The candidate chosen will have a variety of duties depending on his/her abilities:
- Brainstorming to arrive at promotion campaign strategies and slogans.
- Graphic layout and design of promotional print pieces.
- Preparing for station public relations events.
- Coordinating promotion projects.
- Preparing special mailings to target audiences.
- Writing news release copy promoting WVPT programs and events.
- Proofing Viewfinder (program guide newsletter).
- Filing.
The intern will receive a broad look at program promotion, marketing, and public relations at WVPT.
This is a non-paid position.

The candidates chosen will have a variety of duties depending on their abilities:
Job #1 - Pledge Intern - Development
(second semester only)
Intern position runs from the start of the second semester through April 1. Individual will assist pledge producer with data entry and script set-up. Must be able to merge documents and sort in Excel. Some follow up phone work necessary. Daytime hours are flexible. Position requires 10 - 15 hours per week.
Job #2 - Pledge Intern - Development
(first semester only)
Intern position runs from the start of the first semester through December 1. Individual will assist pledge producer with data entry and script set-up. Educational Services Internship

The candidates chosen will have a variety of duties depending on their abilities:
Ready To Learn (RTL) and other outreach
- Process books and materials for distribution and workshops
- Create materials for promotion, distribution, and workshops
- Present, or assist with presenting RTL workshops
- Support and/or coordinate other outreach projects such as contests, special programs, etc
- Write promotional materials
- Assist with evaluation of projects
- Special Project: Do a study on progress of students in RTL vs. students not in RTL
project
Instructional Telecommunications and Video (ITV)
- Process materials for distribution and workshops
- Create materials for promotion (including a newsletter), distribution and workshops
- Correlate instructional materials to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL)
- Input or update data to databases
- Create or prepare materials for web publication
- Update website
- Assist with instructional technology presentations and workshops for teachers
- Assist with coordination of the National Teacher Training Institute (NTTI)
- Assist with preparation of ITV print materials
- Compile utilization and preview survey data
- Special Project: Do a study of SOL scores between students of teachers who use ITV vs. those who don't.
Adult Learning Services (ALS)
- Process materials for distribution
- Write/create materials for promotion (including a newsletter) and distribution
- Assist with teleconferences.
Grant Writing and/or Support
- Assist with identification, research, writing and assembling materials for grant applications related to any of the above areas.
These are non-paid positions.
