2010 Scripps Spelling Bee
Regional Competition
March 6, 2010

Sponsored by the Rockingham District Ruritan Club, The Daily News Record & WVPT

Local students from grades 5, 6, 7, 8 will compete in the regional competition live in the WVPT Studio. Schools eligible to participate include Rockingham County, Harrisonburg City, Highland County, Page County, EMU, Blue Ridge Christian school and home school. Individual school bees will be in January and county spelling bees are February 1. The Regional Spelling Bee with 18 – 20 students will be 90 minutes of competition with numerous rounds. The Ruritans will award the winner with a laptop computer.  The winners will continue to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.
