“Farm to Table” production begins this weekend in Staunton

STAUNTON- WVPT will be recording a pilot for a new series, Farm to Table at the Staunton farmers market, September 19th at 10:00 A.M. Hosting the show, will be Virginia Farming host Jeff Ishee and & WVPT Cooks host Tassie Pippert. The event will focus on local farmers’ markets and the role they play in our communities, both from the vendors’ and the buyer’s perspectives. WVPT’s Tassie Pippert will also be conducting a cooking demonstration while using products found at the farmers market. Amy Roscher, producer of the new program sees this as a way to showcase the wholesome charm of Virginia’s farmers’ markets. Farmers’ markets are a huge part of The Shenandoah Valley’s culture and heritage. “Agriculture is such a huge part of The Shenandoah Valley culture, that sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have such amazing produce available to us basically right down the road.”

Jeff Ishee is the host of WVPT’s Virginia Farming Agriculture news series. Virginia Farming has been airing on WVPT for more than seven years now and can be seen nationwide every week on RFD TV. The current host of WVPT Cooks w/ Tassie Pippert will be joining Jeff on Farm to Table to prepare some delicious home cooked surprises. Tassie is a 15 year veteran host of WVPT Cooks. Roscher believes the pairing of the two personalities is a natural fit for Farm to Table. “Jeff’s agricultural experience, matched with Tassie’s charming personality, makes for a great team.”

Farm to Table will be premiering it’s pilot episode on WVPT in November.
