CD/DVD, Carole King – James Taylor Live at the Troubadour
In November 2007, James Taylor and Carole King, joined by the same Los Angeles band that played with James and Carole at the Troubadour in the early 1970s, re-united for six shows to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary club. James, Carole and the band that became The Section -- Danny Kortchmar, Lee Sklar and Russ Kunkel -- together performed a remarkable set of songs. The recording culled from these unforgettable shows (on both CD and DVD) features 15 songs with 75 minutes of pristine video and audio.

The Troubadour, an intimate club on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood was fertile ground that served as the unofficial home to some of the era’s defining musicians – like the Eagles, Elton John, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt and Joni Mitchell. In November 1970, James Taylor and Carole King first performed together at the Troubadour. Taylor had just released his debut album for the Beatles’ newly formed Apple Records, and King was finding her way as a first-time solo performer even though she was a famous songwriter with a string of hits for other artists. When they returned to the Troubadour for a 2-week co-headlining run in 1971, Taylor’s “Fire and Rain” had topped the charts, and King’s landmark album, Tapestry, was on its way to making her a music superstar.

2-CD set, Carole King – Tapestry (Legacy Edition)
Carole King is a legendary songwriter who has crafted a myriad of hit songs for other artists but, by writing and performing her own material, she charted new ground with Tapestry. Now you can experience Carole’s vision in its original “unplugged” brilliance. This deluxe 2-CD Legacy Edition features previously unreleased live piano-voice renditions of Tapestry songs in the original album sequence. A runaway-train success, this landmark album stayed on the national charts for a mind-boggling six years and won King four Grammys®.

The second disc contains live material recorded in 1973 (Boston, Massachusetts; Columbia, Maryland; Central Park, New York City) and in 1976 (San Francisco, California). The only song from the first disc that is not performed live on the second disc is “Where You Lead,” since King was not playing that song live at the time.
