BOOK, THROUGH A DOG'S EYES
Through a Dog’s Eyes by Jennifer Arnold is a stirring, inspiring book that will change the way you understand and communicate with your dog. Few people are more qualified to speak about the abilities and potential of dogs than Jennifer Arnold who, for the past twenty years, has trained service dogs for people with physical disabilities and special needs. Jennifer has developed a unique understanding of dogs’ capabilities, intelligence, sensitivity, and extra-sensory skills. Her training method is based on teaching dogs to make choices – as opposed to obeying commands – through kindness and encouragement, and her results are extraordinary.

To Jennifer, dogs are extremely trusting beings attuned to their owners’ needs, and they aim to please. In her book, Jennifer recounts her firsthand experiences – what moved her to start her exemplary nonprofit organization and how she developed her methodology. These stories -- drawn from Jennifer’s life and the lives of the dogs who were her greatest teachers -- are convincing, unforgettable, and compelling. This book is a heart-warming, captivating read that will forever change the way you see your way by showing you the way your dog sees the world. Hardcover, 240 pages

DVD, THROUGH A DOG'S EYES
Through a Dog’s Eyes will change the way you feel about your own dog. The documentary follows a handful of people as they journey through the heartwarming and often challenging process of receiving their service dogs. Jennifer Arnold, founder of Canine Assistants, discusses her teaching methods and the life-changing impact these dogs have on the recipients and their families. She gives us a glimpse of puppy-rearing and training, and takes us inside the intense and sometimes nerve-wracking experience of matching people with their dogs. Ádám Miklósi, Ph.D., one of the world’s foremost experts in dog cognition, also discusses the science behind Jennifer’s training philosophy.

You’ll also follow the families home with their dogs and watch their relationships unfold. Sometimes what began as love at first sight deepens. Occasionally the initial chemistry doesn’t last. Overall, it’s a bonding process that, as with any relationship, takes work and time. These hopeful stories provide unique insights into the ways canine assistants improve people’s lives. What’s more, you’ll see your own dog in a whole new light. Bonus Material: Training tips presented and demonstrated by dog expert Jennifer Arnold. Running Time: 65 minutes (approx. – includes bonus footage)
