As part of their ongoing commitment to the community, the Walmart Distribution Center recently provided a generous $1,000.00 contribution to WVPT-TV.  Brian Morgan – Assistant General Manager presented the check to WVPT General Manager, David Mullins.  The grant will be used to help fund WVPT’s 2010 PBS Kids Go “Young Writers and Illustrators Contest”.  Each year WVPT receives hundreds of entries throughout the Shenandoah Valley from students ranging from kindergarten through 3rd grade.  Each child that enters the contest must write and illustrate an original book. The winning story is then entered into the national contest. “The contest is a fantastic way to inspire children’s creativity and imagination,” says Mullins, “it allows us to extend our educational mission beyond the televisions screen, and we are thankful to organizations like Walmart that support these efforts”
